The weather was warming up and more seasonal, and the lakes were finally beginning to melt and were no longer safe to walk on. However, the snow was still plentiful with a bit of ice so the crampons were essential. I parked at the Silvermine Lake parking, and took the Menomine Trail along the lake and then climbed to the intersection of the Appalachian Trail. I continued along the trail to the Brien Memorial Trail, and then turned around and went back the same way to my car.
