This area is usually quieter than other nearby areas in Harriman on busy weekends, and that was what I was looking for on this hike. I had not hiked this area in a while so figured this was a good opportunity. I parked at the small parking area at the bend on County Route 106, and took the White Bar Trail up the hill, down the steep valley, and back up again to the view along the White Bar Trail at Carr Pond Mountain.

I then descended the mountain the deep valley below, and took the Parker Cabin Hollow for a short distance to an unmarked woods road heading north. I took this path until it reached County Route 106. I walked on the road for a short distance, and then took the narrow paved road to Camp Winowna. This road is gated so there are no cars here. I took some pictures where the road meets Lake Stahahe, and too some pictures. I then turned around for a short distance and did a bushwack at the stream, climbing up alongside it and passing by several small waterfalls. They were most dry at this point with hot summer weather already in place. I eventually reached the White Bar Trail, which I took back to my car.

The Parker Cabin Hollow Trail is a relatively new trail that starts  right near the Thruway and goes through a scenic valley called Parker Cabin Hollow. I parked at the trailhead on County 106 right near the Thruway, and took the trail east from its beginning. The trail goes through a nice evergreen grove near the beginning. I continued along the trail, where it flanks a large swamp on the north which has lots of beaver activity, including felled trees, a beaver dam, and beaver home in the middle of the swamp. I continued to the end of the trail at the White Bar Trail, where there is a nice meadow where the trail crosses the brook over a shaky bridge. I took the White Bar north to the steep but short ascent to the view of Carr Pond Mountain. Carr Pond Mountain has a nice view towards the east. I then turned around and returned the same way back.

This was another very cold day. The lakes still weren't fully frozen so we had to opt for a regular hike. We started on the trailhead parking on County Rt. 106 by the bend at the White Bar Trailhead. Climbed the small ridge and then descended, and then climbed to the top of Carr Pond Mountain and the viewpoint. Continued descending on the trail, and then intended to take the unmarked trail along the stream back to the road, but the trail was well overgrown and nowhere to be found, so instead just bushwacked up the frozen stream back to the road and back to the car.
